Elvis Andrus sidelined due to new tattoo

Getting a new tattoo can cause various levels of discomfort. Irritation and sensitivity of the area is common, and the healing process can take weeks. In the meantime, the discomfort can make doing many normal tasks difficult. Just ask Texas Rangers shortstop Elvis Andrus.

Andrus recently got a tattoo of his late father on his left upper arm. The artwork has caused increased sensitivity in the bicep area and has caused him great discomfort. As a result, he will not be able to play in tonight's game against the Cleveland Indians.

On Saturday Andrus will be leaving to join Team Venezuela in the World Baseball Classic. He may be gone until March 20th.
