Elusive Krasis from 'Gatecrash' revealed (Photos)

Elusive Krasis is one of the newest "Magic: The Gathering" cards revealed today from Wizards of the Coast's upcoming expert expansion set "Gatecrash."

Elusive Krasis - 1GU
Creature - Fish Mutant (Uncommon)
Elusive Krasis is unblockable

Evolve (Whenever a creature enters the battlefield under your control, if that creature has greater power or toughness than this creature, put a +1/+1 counter on this creature.)
0/4

Elusive Krasis makes two evolve creatures at three mana that have been spoiled so far (the other being Simic Fluxmage). There's no doubt that Elusive Krasis will play a pivotal role in Evolve decks thanks to its high toughness of four. It also fits perfectly along the curve of Cloudfin Raptor or Experiment One, Zameck Guildmage, and Fathom Mage.

Because Elusive Krasis is unblockable it makes a great target for Cipher spells like Call of the Nightwing and Whispering Madness.

Elusive Krasis is an amazing creature in limited because it'll buy you time blocking until it grows to a respectable size. From there, it'll be just a few short turns until your opponent is dead.

It's important to note that Elusive Krasis is a Fish and not a Merfolk. Despite Master of the Pearl Trident just being printed, we've only seen a handful of other Merfolk: Augur of Bolas, Talrand, Sky Summoner, and Scroll Thief being the highlights. Will Fish be the new blue race?

How will you use Elusive Krasis?
