Santa Claus should be worried. At the Hollywood Christmas Parade on Sunday night two famous Sesame Street faces got the kids just as excited as old St Nick. The Elmo and Oscar the Grouch balloons, as tall as the buildings they walked by, got the kids to scream in delight.
The 80th Annual Hollywood Christmas Parade hit the streets spreading holiday cheer all over the community. Sharing the moment with family and friends, thousands of people gathered along the parade route to kick off the holidays. With the temperatures in the upper 60’s, it was possible to have a hot chocolate or an ice tea and celebrate all the holidays coming up.
In addition to the traditional balloons that walked the streets, there were plenty of actors and entertainers including the Grand Marshal Marie Osmond. Not the typical parade, there was plenty of star power that drove along waving to the fans and screaming out holiday greetings.
Yet, Elmo and Oscar the Grouch appeared to be the big draws for the kids under 10. With the intense screaming from the street sides, there wasn’t any doubt the holidays wouldn’t be the same without the two Sesame Street characters.
