The Ellie and Tyler Run dates all the way back to January of 1997 after Tyler Frey died just over the age of two months old of SIDS (sudden infant death syndrome). It was just last year in 2013 when Ellise Brown was added to the name and detail of the run when her family was devastated with her death from SIDS as well when she was just over 4 months old. So, both the Ellise Brown Foundation and the Tyler Run Foundation collect funds and work to support families who have been affected by SIDS, as well as promote education and research about and against this horrifying, sudden loss.

This year Ellie and Tyler’s Run will be a 10K run and a 4 mile Run/Walk in Miami Whitewater Park in Harrison. It will start at 9am on Saturday, September 13. Pre-registration is available until September 1 and online registration will close midnight September 12. Visit for both additional information about the run, online registration and some additional details about the foundations. Pre-registration is $20 including a t-shirt, late registration is $25 without a t-shirt guaranteed. Late registration will also be available the morning of the race starting at 7:30 until 8:30 for $25.

If you want to come out and support these two foundations and their fight against SIDS and support of local families who have suffered, please come on out to Whitewater Park on September 13, 9001 Mt. Hope Rd, Harrison, for the race at 9am. The Ellise Brown Foundation also accepts tax-deductible donations, with information also available on the website. SIDS is definitely a shocking and horrifying loss for parents of young infants, so if you are looking for a race the 13th, head on over to Harrison!
