Deadline learned yesterday of Ellen Page’s (“Super”) upcoming directorial debut (some actors have to try to do everything).
The film, “Miss Stevens,” was written by Julia Hart (“The Keeping Room”), and focused on Miss Stevens, a drama teacher whose life has hit a bit of a rough patch, but who rediscovers her self-worth while chaperoning a group of high school students over a weekend trip to the state drama competition.
The always forgettable, but still somehow funny, Anna Faris will star as the titular character, and the film will go into production later this year, but this definitely seems like something I can wait to see.
Page is really nothing special so there is no reason to believe her directorial work would be any different, and the fact that she got Faris leads me to believe that this film has no hope of being a box office smash.
