Ellen Page, Anna Paquin, and Shawn Ashmore confirmed for ‘X-Men’ sequel

Production for “X-Men: Days of Future Past” continues to develop as casting grows. On Saturday, Jan. 26, producer Bryan Singer announced via Twitter that three original “X-Men” characters will be returning: Ellen Page, Anna Paquin, and Shawn Ashmore.

“Very excited to welcome #annapaquin, @ellenpage & @shawnrashmore to #Xmen #DaysofFurturePast – thank you @BretRatner for letting them live!” Singer tweeted, thanking “X-Men: The Last Stand” director Brett Ratner for not killing them off.

In “X-Men: The Last Stand,” Ellen Page played Kitty Pride, Anna Paquin played Rogue, and Shawn Ashmore played Iceman.

According to ComingSoon.net, the role of these characters is yet to be determined. Ellen Page however, might play a major role as Kitty Pryde since her character is important an part in the comic book storyline.

Also returning are: Ian McKellen, Patrick Stewart, James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, and Hugh Jackman.

“X-Men: Days of Future Past” is scheduled to hit theaters on July 18, 2014.
