Ellen DeGeneres debuts new Oscars promo; ‘Side Effects’ is funny (video)

Ellen DeGeneres is cranking up the Oscars machine and getting ready for the biggest night in Hollywood. Of course she has about a month before everyone will find their seats at the theater to watch the Academy Awards, but that doesn’t stop her from sharing what the side effects might be of watching the show. According to the Huffington Post on Tuesday, the first promo reminded everyone that sometimes stars take too long to thank people. This latest promo offers a look at what might happen if you watch the award show.

“I want to make sure you don't miss the #Oscars, so I made another promo! It's easier than sending you all an Evite,” tweeted Ellen DeGeneres from her official Twitter account. Attaching a video clip for her fans, the people got to see the new video even before the media.

Ellen DeGeneres’ humor and soft approach to the Oscars is very viewer friendly. The edginess of years past is gone and that’s appreciated by the fans. With Hollywood laughing at inside jokes and leaving the audience in the cold, this time the involvement seems full circle and the laughs are at nobody’s expense.

Of course, everyone expects that Ellen’s Oscar night will throw a few pokes and perhaps play a few people off, but the tone of the Academy Awards in 2014 is exceptional and people are already making sure to save the date.
