Ellen DeGeneres, Cory Monteith and more: Stars react to Prop 8 ruling

In Hollywood the ruling handed down by a federal appeals panel that California’s ban on same-sex marriage was unconstitutional had celebrities responding. A big issue for stars who stand by equal rights for all, Tuesday’s Twitter had a number of celebrities praising the decision. The issue, expected to draw out more opinions of Hollywood in the hours ahead definitely was a happy moment for many stars.

Here are a few of the many Tweets by celebrities praising the decision:

“Today we took another step towards equality. #Prop8 was found unconstitutional again. I couldn’t be happier,” wrote Ellen DeGeneres.

“Are my ears hearing this corectly? If so my eyes are filling with tears of joy! thank you lord #Prop8IsUnconstitutional,” jotted Kelly Osbourne.

“Prop 8 has been ruled unconstitutional! In other news, the Pacific Ocean was discovered to be wet,” shared Cory Monteith.

“No #prop8!!!! Yay for equality! :) :) :) Happy Dance!” wrote Ricki Lake.

The same-sex ruling is expected to head to the Supreme Court, but celebrities do feel the decision will remain the same, even if a higher court reviews the case.
