Ella Henderson signs on to perform at the 2013 National Television Awards

Ella Henderson, who came in sixth place on "The X Factor" U.K. in 2012, will perform at the 2013 National Television Awards (NTAs) at the O2 Arena in London on January 23. The awards show made the announcement about Henderson on January 22, 2013. ITV1 will have a live U.K. telecast of the show, beginning at 7:30 p.m. Greenwich Mean Time.

Henderson will sing Cher's "Believe" at the awards show. Henderson's ballad version of the song on "The X Factor" U.K. was widely considered one of the show's best highlights of 2012. Shortly after the performance was televised in September 2012, Cher posted a message on Twitter to praise Henderson's version of the song: "Went on YouTube to see young girl sing Believe! Tears came to my eyes! So touching! A great version of a great song. We can share it! Hope Ella is making Single of her version of BELIEVE! Would b great if she had a hit with it ! I LOVED it!"

Kimberley Walsh of Girls Aloud fame is also performing at the 2013 National Television Awards. Walsh will be singing her first solo single, "One Day I’ll Fly Away," accompanied by a 20-piece orchestra.

As previously reported, "The X Factor" U.K. has two nominations at the 2013 NTAs: Best Talent Show and Best Entertainment Presenter (for host Dermot O'Leary). While O'Leary has consistently lost out to "Britain's Got Talent" co-hosts Ant & Dec for the Best Entertainment Presenter award, "The X Factor" U.K. has won the Best Talent Show prize several years in a row.

Voting for the awards is done online by the public at the NTA website. O'Leary is once again hosting the awards show.

Henderson's "X Factor" elimination was perhaps the show's biggest shocker of 2012, since most viewers assumed that Henderson would be one of the final three contestants that year. She was mentored on the show by "The X Factor" U.K. judge Tulisa Contostavlos, who is expected to attend the 2013 NTAs.

In December 2012, Henderson signed a deal with Sony Music, which will release her debut album in 2013 on a date to be announced. She is also on "The X Factor" U.K. 2013 tour, which is a month-long trek that begins January 26 in Manchester, England.

Henderson's debut album might include a collaboration with British pop sensation Emeli Sandé. Henderson told Heat magazine: "I've always been a massive, massive fan of Emeli. I'm in awe of her for songwriting reasons. I'm meeting with her soon. We've spoken but not met face-to-face. It feels so weird that I'm coming into a world with an artist I respect."
