The Elkins Family Law Task Force, chaired by Associate Justice Laurie D. Zelon of the Court of Appeal, Second Appellate District (Los Angeles), was appointed in May 2008 to conduct a comprehensive review of family law proceedings and recommend to the Judicial Council of California proposals that will increase access to justice, ensure due process, and provide for more effective and consistent rules, policies, and procedures.
The Elkins Family Law Task Force was appointed in response to an August 2007 California Supreme Court opinion, Elkins v. Superior Court (2007) 41 Cal.4th 1337, which held that marital dissolution trials should “proceed under the same general rules of procedure that govern other civil trials” (id. at p. 1345). The charge of the task force is to propose measures to improve efficiency and fairness in family law proceedings and ensure access to justice for all family law litigants.
As of October 1, 2009 the Elkins Family Law Task Force has released over 100 draft recommendations for a two-month public comment period. If you wish to receive a set of draft recommendations, please send your contact information to elkinstaskforce@jud.ca.gov.
The comment period will continue through December 4, 2009, 5:00 p.m. Comments are welcome and encouraged. Public comment on the draft recommendations is vitally important and will help to improve and refine the final work product of the Task Force.

This is a do nothing task force they only want more judges when it's the judges that are refusing to use the law in the first place and causing most peoples frustrations with the family courts. We need to get rid of judicial discretion because judges have a lack of following the law so we need to make them follow the law.

I want my son return ASAP I have be to Ca Supreme Court asking for review of my case. I was denied to represent myself in court. LA County response was I did not have a right since I was not charged with a criminal offense (yet my son was taken without warrant with due cause and was raped by foster dad in CPS custody. He continues being forced to take dangerous unwarranted drugs that will continue to harm his mind and body. As they are planning to adopt him out to another couple who has a history of Domestic Violence) Where is our justice!
i am heartbroken. My children were stolen by CPS and now they have been placed with their Dad. I cannot fight so many against me and there is nothing I can do or say to make these people look at the truth. They only want to see things the way they want to see it. And CPS, and the AMICUS took my children without proving JACK. It's been so long, like they say, children grow up so quickly. The time is lost. My life is lost. they took my god given right to be a mother. For Spite. These are the people who everyone thinks are fair and just and paragons of moral standing and compassion and fairness. They are NOT. They are doing what people with influence want them to do. Quotas, and settling scores for their buddies.
how much monnies is this task force giving themselves for this yet another attempt to hush the parents past while gathering more children for the benifit of big pharma experiments and super soldier programs as project talent where the CIA took children as young as 6 yrs. forcing them to create multi personalties for MK Ultra projects in black projects? i have vested interest in what i have just said i had custody of my grandson from age 9mos to 6 yrs. when my teen kidnapped by non relitive 3 x fellon drugs a/b b/e who the courts gave custody of while trying to remove grandson too. this was in retaliation barnstable county cape cod for speaking out in newspaper 1993 when they created a lack of housing for residence leaving over 200 families homeless. until 2002 we lived without support as it was cut right away this was in retaliation. a yr. later my daughter accused of stealing ring at high sch. first yr. along w/4 others girls who were not taken away as my daughter along w/grandson.
The Judicial Task Force is a cruel joke played on the American public.
Every one of us who has experienced Family Courts recognizes that our judges are the new slavemaster Thugs of our new century. They decide everything about our lives. Our role is just to fill the role of slaves to their Judicial Tyranny.
Like all leftist front advocates, they are always engaging in deceiving us the public about how they are conducting their business.
They destroy families and children while pretending to protect them. Like the professional liar Obama that we now have for president, they speak one way and do the exactly opposite.
It is no wander that Obama, lawyers and bureaucrats have become bedfellows and allies on the political left front.
We need to create competition in the providing of Judicial Services by giving litigants a choice whether to be served by governmental courts or by private courts.
