Recently, Elizabethtown Walmart began carrying something much needed in their store: wedding and prom wear. Several days ago, I was grocery shopping in the am and happened to be buzzing around the accessories and noticed a display of rhinestone tiaras, necklaces, bracelets, earrings, and other hair pieces. This was an excellent find, because similar products in other stores are usually very pricey. Walmart usually carries specialized products like this from time to time, but they usually don't last. Here are a few of the items that Walmart is currently carrying at an (extremely) fair price:
- Rhinestone tiaras. There were several designs on the rack, but the one that appealed to me the most was the Princess Diana-like silver rhinestone tiara featuring a heart shaped stone in the center. The tiara is very traditional, yet classy and sophisticated. In fact, I purchased the tiara for $14.99. This is incredibly comparative as far as price is concerned since Michaels carries similar tiaras for around $30.00. Which, still compares to Bridal Warehouse, as some of their basic design tiaras start at $99.00.
- Rhinestone necklaces. Out of curiosity, I checked the prices on the necklaces, especially the ones similar to the Princess Di-Marilyn Monroe style that my own necklace favors. The necklaces are priced just as fairly- each necklace was around the $10.00 range. Additionally, there was a pretty good variety of necklace designs, both rhinestones and pearls. This too, is pretty fair, since Michaels and Bridal Warehouse triples in price, respectively.
- Earrings and bracelets. The average price on the earrings and bracelets was $6.00-$7.00. There were all types of earrings available- from long and dangly, to chandelier, and rhinestone to pearls. Bracelets were also in a wide variety of styles.
Although the selection is limited compared to specialty stores, Walmart's wedding and prom wear are definitely worth checking out. These make great bridal accessories, as well as wedding party jewelry on a budget. Good deals don't last this long, so savvy shoppers will be chomping at the bit.
