Elizabeth Vargas opens up about battle with alcoholism and rehab on 'GMA'

Elizabeth Vargas is set to possibly follow in Barbara Walters' footsteps one day. Currently she works on "20/20" and has earned that job by slowly climbing the ranks. In November 2013 Vargas had a realization about her alcohol consumption and ended up in rehab. According to a Jan. 24 report from E! Online, Elizabeth Vargas opened up about her struggles on "Good Morning America." She was grateful for the support she got from her colleauges and family.

When the news broke that the "20/20" host Elizabeth Vargas was headed to rehab, fans were shocked. Vargas has always been seen with her act together and has been incredibly professional throughout her years in front of the camera. Sometimes things aren't always as they seem. Elizabeth Vargas went to a rehab facility for 28 days and left against their advice. After being home five days, she returned to the facility to complete the program.

Her interview on "Good Morning America" was brave and informative. Elizabeth Vargas spent a lot of energy and time hiding her alcoholism from everyone. It was exhausting. For now Vargas explains to her children that she has an allergy to alcohol. Fans are happy for Vargas and her recovery and have been sending words of support for her across social media.
