Elizabeth Smart will testify Thursday in her kidnapper's hearing

A judge ruled yesterday that Elizabeth Smart will testify in Brian David Mitchell’s competency hearing on Thursday, October 1st.  This will be the first time Elizabeth Smart has taken the stand against Mitchell, who is accused of kidnapping her seven years ago.

Judge Kimball said that Smart’s testimony will give a full picture of Brian David Mitchell’s day-to-day interactions.  Ed Smart, Elizabeth’s father thinks that Elizabeth’s testimony will build a strong case that Mitchell is competent, KSL reported.  AP photo/Ron Edmonds.

Mitchell has refused to take medication; and acts a little out of it (singing, talking to himself, etc.) when he comes to the court room and has to be removed.

So perhaps psychologists need to consider "courtroom induced insanity" fueled by nervous people hiding from the law?!?
