Elizabeth Park in Hartford,CT hosts concerts on certain Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m.in the Rose Garden. The last concert was Laytanya Farrell and her band. She played at the park to a large crowd with adult, kids, and seniors that enjoyed food and music in the July summer weather. When it rains concerts are held in the Pond House a restaurant and meeting center in Elizabeth Park. Most concerts run until about 8 p.m.
The next concert will be on July 23, at 6:30 p.m. The band will be The Blue Cherry Band. On, August 6th, Mass Confusion will perform and on August 20th Nifty Fifties. Bring a picnic dinner, lawn chairs, or dine at the Pond House in Elizabeth Park. These concerts are free because many Hartford area corporations and non-profit organizations support this program.
Elizabeth Park is a world famous 2-1/2 rose garden with over 800 varieties of roses. It is open to the public to see weekdays and weekends for free. Elizabeth Park has other gardens for visitor to view like an herb garden, shade garden, tulips and annuals, perennial garden, rock garden and heritage garden. Most are tended by volunteer and staff. On July 26 the rose garden will be seeking volunteer for the many gardens from 9 a.m. to noon at the Rose Garden. The park is located on the corners of Prospect St. and Aslyum on the Hartford/West Hartford Line.
