Elizabeth Hasselbeck is leaving “The View.” The announcement comes just one day after Elizabeth’s fellow host, Joy Behar, also announced she’s leaving the daytime show, The Huffington Post reported on Mar. 8.
According to the report, Hasselback’s view on politics was clashing with those of the audience, forcing execs to make a change. Elizabeth and Joy’s departure will leave Barbara Walters, Whoopi Goldberg, and Sherri Shepard as hosts.
Elizabeth Hasselbeck has become known as “The View” co-host with strong opinions on politics, and has very publicly endorsed the Republican Party, including strongly backing Sarah Palin.
However, Elizabeth was a favorite among fans, even when they didn’t agree with her. Hasselbeck brought interesting perspectives on parenting to the table, and will be missed among those who enjoyed listening to what she had to say.
What are your thoughts on Elizabeth Hasselbeck leaving “The View?” Do you think she was really fired for clashing with audiences?
