Elizabeth Berkley has given "Saved by the Bell" fans a reason to feel really excited about her next performance on "Dancing with the Stars." According to an Oct. 14 by Complex, the sexy celeb is going to dance to The Pointer Sister's song "I'm So Excited" tonight on the show.
Any religious "Saved by the Bell" viewer knows the story behind the "I'm So Excited" song. In a very special episode of the show titled "Jessie's Song," Elizabeth's overachiever character got hooked on drugs, which she was taking to help her deal with the pressures of studying and potential superstardom -- she and her friends formed a singing group called Hot Sundae that was supposed to be the female version of New Kids on the Block. However, "Saved by the Bell" kind of pussed out and made the "drugs" that Jessie got hooked on nothing more than over-the-counter caffeine pills. Still, they did cause Jesse to suffer an epic breakdown while singing "I'm So Excited" to Zack Morris. It's hard for fans to forget Elizabeth Berkley changing the words to, "I'm so excited, I'm so excited, I'm so, I'm so... scared!"
Berkley referenced this big pop culture moment and hinted at it playing a part in her dance tonight by tweeting, "#imsoexcited. #imsoexcited #imso...." She also shared an Instagram photo of her outfit for tonight, which definitely looks like something out of early '90s with its excessive bedazzling and leg warmers.
So will her partner, Val Chmerkovskiy, wear one of those colorful Zack Morris sweaters that TV's coolest kid must have stolen from Bill Cosby's closet? And will Elizabeth's big hair make a big comeback? You'll have to tune in to "Dancing with the Stars" tonight to see!
And in case you're wondering, Val Chmerkovskiy has revealed that he and Elizabeth Berkley will also pay homage to "Showgirls," so it's very important for fans to vote for the couple. Elizabeth probably won't thrash around like a spastic stripper all hopped up on coke (or was her "Showgirls" character just hooked on caffeine, too?), and she probably won't take a page from Miley Cyrus by licking a pole. However, hopefully she'll channel Nomi Malone's energetic, aggressive spirit.
So does Elizabeth's decision to revisit her past have you so excited that you feel like a teen all hopped up on massive amounts of caffeine?
