The View co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck lashed out at Howard Stern Show co-host Robin Quivers during Thursday's Hot Topics, stating that Quivers betrayed women everywhere by joining in on Stern's brutal criticism of 'Precious' star Gabourey Sidibe's weight.
Howard Stern's comments about Gabourey Sidibe gain surprising support
The View co-hosts first played a clip from Monday's now infamous Howard Stern Show discussion in which Howard Stern said of Gabourey Sidibe:
"She is enormous...What movie is she going to be in? 'Blind Side 2'-she could be the football player. She could take out the whole front line."
Robin Quivers concurred: ""Everybody's pretending that she's a part of show business."

After The View monitors played the clip, Elisabeth Hasselbeck launched into a semi-coherent rant about Robin Quivers selling out her gender:
"I guess the expectation is different, maybe, from a man to a woman. Okay, you have Howard Stern saying this about a woman and you think: 'Okay. Well that's a guy.' I'm not going to give him a pass, but the expectation when a woman, I believe, slams into another woman over an issue such as weight, something that every woman deals with on some level. Why? Where is the loyalty to the gender, A. Because I don't know how-look Howard-he's a dad. I would hope that as time goes on he would never hope that someone would talk about a daughter like this of his, but I think for Robin, Robin I would hope too that would think-'Why would I create this situation and make it worse for women out there dealing with weight issues?' And why to Gabby the sweetest person, who came here, sat here, confident in who she is. Beautiful as can be. Why do that to her? I just-it doesn't make sense to me."
In an effort to support Elisabeth Hasselbeck's point, The View guest Sir Elton John piped in: "Howard Stern said that she [Gabourey Sidibe] would end up killing herself, which I think is the most irresponsible thing."
As The View audience gasped at Elton John's statement, co-hosts Joy Behar and Barbara Walters quickly corrected Elton John by explaining that Howard Stern meant that Gabourey Sidibe was in danger of killing herself because of her morbid obesity.

"Oh," mumbled Elton John backtracking quickly. "He means her weight."

"Everybody's pretending that she's a part of show business." That same statement could be said about Hasselbeck. No wonder her panties are in a wad.
That twig needs to shut the F ck up.
what a bird brain with hay growing out of her head
Meanness is never in order. Sidebe, even with her personal issues, has done more to help people than Stern has. He has become rich by being lewd.
Quivers is such a sellout...sigh...
I don't get Robin Quivers atatement, "Everybody's pretending she is in show business...." If you are starring in a movie that makes millions daily-a movie that claimed an Oscar, aren't you in Show business? What a job-having to kiss disgusting Howard Stern's ass every day!
Howard was in one movie...playing HIMSELF. At least Gabby had to earn her part. What did Robin ever do?
People are pretending she's in show business? Do you mean the way Howard wants everyone to pretend that Beth Ohno is in show business? No one had ever heard of that scary gold digger until she put her hooks in delusional old Howie.
Any woman (cough-cough) who plays sidekick to a disgusting POS, mouse-not-a-man like Howie, has some serious issues herself. Hey Robin, simply being skinney doesn't make you healthy either, at least not mentally as you're living proof of that!
what about all the anorexic women in hollywood. Howard and Quivers are just mad because they can't even be called has beens, they've never done anything
It's true though guys, she is a behemoth.
