The View cronies were back from vacation in all of their glory on Monday morning, and co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck dove right into the "Hot Topic" of the day by stating that Harry Reid's racist comments about President Barack Obama never would have been forgiven had they been uttered by a member of the GOP:
"If Harry Reid was a Republican, people would be more up in arms asking him to step down," seethed Elisabeth Hasselbeck in a heavily Bedazzled blouse.
The controversy surrounding Nevada Senator Harry Reid surfaced in the book 'Game Change' by authors Mark Halperin and John Heileman, which revealed an off the record conversation with Harry Reid during the 2008 Presidential election when Reid stated that then candidate Barack Obama's chances for victory were improved by the fact that he was:
"a light-skinned African American with no Negro dialect--unless he wants to have one".
Senator Harry Reid has publicly apologized to President Barack Obama for the comment.
