Elisabeth Hasselbeck isn't happy about Rosie O'Donnell returning to 'The View'

According to MSN on Wednesday, Elisabeth Hasselbeck isn't thrilled about the possibility of Rosie O'Donnell returning as a co-host on "The View." Even though the former co-host of the talk show was on vacation, she called into the Fox News morning show to voice her opinion about the reported return of O'Donnell.

Viewers still remember the heated discussions Hasselbeck and O'Donnell had during the year O'Donnell was on the show. In reference to the announcement of O'Donnell's return, Hasselbeck said, "Here in comes to 'The View' the very woman who spit in the face of our military, spit in the face of her own network, and, really, in the face of a person who stood by her and had civilized debates for the time that she was there -- coming back with a bunch of control, ready to regain a seat at 'The View' table. Not surprising, I think that it's been in the works for a long time."

Hasselbeck continued by saying that when O'Donnell came to Barbara Walters' goodbye show, it really was O'Donnell's "hello" show. Hasselbeck believes the move will have a huge impact on the show, which is already experiencing a ton of turnover and suddenly has competition nipping at its heels. Hasselbeck doesn't believe having O'Donnell back will help ratings, rather she believes her return will hurt ratings. She also wonders how Whoopi Goldberg and O'Donnell will get along. Goldberg is the current moderator who wasn't there when O'Donnell was moderator.

Fox News reminds us that Hasselbeck was a co-host on “The View” for 10 years before she joined “Fox & Friends.” Hasselbeck's main concern is that O’Donnell had talked about a return to the ABC talk show long before now. She calls the news “not surprising.” She said she believes this has been in the works for a long, long time. When all the co-hosts met for Walters' farewell in May, Hasselbeck said she discovered that O'Donnell had a hand in producing the Barbara Walters' retirement special. Hasselbeck can't believe that the woman who left the way that she did would be be allowed to help produce the show.

According to social media, some are glad O'Donnell is returning to "The View." Others, including this writer, aren't so happy about it.
