San Antonio Councilwoman Elisa Chan is in trouble for allegedly making anti-gay remarks during a staff meeting as per reports from My San Antonio on Aug. 15.
The councilwoman was recorded without her knowledge by former aide James Stevens during a staff meeting she called to review the San Antonio anti-gay discrimination policies currently in effect.
Stevens revealed that more than 80 percent of the meeting was spend discussing how “disgusting” homosexuality is.
The recording highlights some appalling statements made by Elisa Chan and her staff, comparing same-sex marriage to pedophilia, incest, and bestiality.
Elisa Chan ran to her own defense stating she was in a staff meeting discussing things behind closed doors. She maintains her stance against gay marriage and claims she does sincerely feel discrimination against gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender persons is wrong.
Many in the gay and lesbian community have trouble believing her.
