The Tiger Woods infidelity scandal has made Elin Nordegren Woods, an object of curiosity – especially since her demand for $750 million in their upcoming divorce.
Who is Elin Nordegren? What is her background? How did she meet Tiger Woods? What is Elin’s claim to fame, other than being Tiger’s wife?
Here’s the inside scoop on Elin Nordegren Woods:
Elin Nordegren was born in Stockholm, Sweden on New Year’s Day in 1980. She is 30 years old.
Her mother is Barbro Holmberg, a politician who served as Sweden’s migration and asylum policy minister from 2003 to 2006.
Her father is Thomas Nordegren, a radio journalist who serves as a bureau chief in Washington, D.C. for the Swedish Broadcasting media.
Elin has an older brother, Axel, and a twin sister, Josefin, who is an attorney employed by the London firm Elin retained to handle her divorce from Tiger Woods.
Elin’s parents divorced when she and her sister were 6 years old,
Elin began modeling in 2000, and appeared on the cover of Cafe Sport magazine in the summer of 2000.
Although she did some modeling while she was in her teens, Elin never actively pursue modeling as a career because she wanted to be a child psychologist.
Elin is very sports-oriented. She was a competitive soccer player well into her teens, and she also scuba dives.
Elin Nordegren attended college at the Lund University in Sweden, where she was studying to become a child psychologist.
She and her twin sister, Josefin worked odd summer jobs and cashiered in supermarkets to finance their education.
While working at a clothing store in Stockholm, Elin met Mia Parnevik, wife of Swedish golfer Jesper Parnevik, and was hired to be the Parnevik children’s nanny. This job required Elin to relocate to the United States.
Elin was introduced to Tiger Woods in 2001 during British Open. Tiger Woods pursued Elin for a year, but she was seeing someone else at the time.
Elin Nordegren and Tiger Woods became engaged in November 2003. They were married in Barbados in October 2004. Their wedding reportedly cost $1.5 million.
The after party was held on golf course, and Tiger and Elin spent their wedding night on privacy, Tiger’s $20 million yacht.
In 2006, Elin sued The Dubliner, an Irish publication, for libel for publishing fake nude pictures of her and claiming that she appeared on Internet porn sites. The photos were proven to be of a Playboy model who closely resembled Elin. Elin won $183,250 and an apology.
Elin and Tiger have 2 children – a 3-year old girl, Sam Alexis Woods, and a 1-year old boy, Charlie Axel Woods. Sam was Earl Woods the pet name for Tiger, when he was a child. Axel is the name of Elin’s brother.
At present, Tiger and Elin live about a mile apart in separate homes, and reportedly do not see each other. Rather than driving the kids back and forth as Elin did before, she now has the children dropped off between the two homes by their nannies.
Elin is described by her friends, family and neighbors as an intensely private person who shuns nightlife, keeps to herself, and focuses on her family, homes and fitness regimen.
Swedish newspapers reported that Elin Nordegren Woods and her sister, Josefin, paid over $2 million for the Faglaro Mansion on a small secluded island near Stockholm, accessible only by ferry.
Elin recently enrolled as a student at Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida, where she will continue pursuing her degree in child psychology.
In her upcoming divorce from Tiger Woods, Elin Nordegren is demanding $750 million, full custody of their te children, and she refuses to sign Tiger's lifetime confidentiality clause.
Elin and the children are currently visiting her brother, Axel, in China.

Every now and then I humor her by responding to one, if I have time.
She didn’t accuse me of taking someone else’s work - that would be libel or slander, if she did. She’s complaining because I don’t list my sources like she sometimes does in her articles.

It would be nice if Tiger & Elin were not considered news anymore. I would never divorce my husband and give the bimbos a chance at him. They have all taken a piece of him and even though it was his fault to begin with, they all knew what they were doing. Now there will be another broken home and thanks to the media for most likely not always telling the truth, this couple has no chance. Sadly, their children pay the ultimate price of being shuffled back and forth.
Elin is no more fit to raise those kids without Tiger than he is without her. If what was reported as true that she physically assaulted him, she needs some help too. As a student of child psychiatry she would know better. She needs to think what legacy there will be for her kids if this divorce goes thru as what she wants. Children's needs should always be considered first.
No tabloid or media outlet has been able to find any dirt about Elin Nordegren’s life, character and behavior. If there would have been anything, Tiger would have never married Elin. I remember reading an interview, with Tiger’s mother, Tilda, done when Tiger was still single, where she stated that any future bride of Tiger would be investigated thoroughly. I will not doubt this was done with Elin, before Tiger married her. All that the media has repeatedly said is that Elin has been a loyal, devoted wife to Tiger and a loving mother to her children. While Tiger has been a serial adulterer, liar, and deceiver, before, during and after his marriage to Elin!

Regarding Elin -- actually there was a story about her ages ago, in which his mother made it very clear that she was NOT in favor of the marriage.
Also, there has been speculation about Elin's affairs as well. Nontheless children need two parents. / R
