Despite her continued silence, Elin Nordegren has proven herself to be a formidable foe in negotiating her final divorce settlement from Tiger Woods.

Custody of the Children
Of prime importance to Elin was getting full custody of the couple’s two children, daughter Sam, 3, and son Charlie, 18 months.
But Tiger Woods fought hard to get joint custody of his kids.

Elin will get sole physical custody of the children, which means that the children will live with her.
However, Tiger and Elin will share joint legal custody of the children. Under this arrangement, Tiger Woods will be able to weigh in on any decision that might have a major impact on his kids.
And Tiger can re-negotiate the terms of the custody agreement in 5 years.
Under the custody agreement Tiger and Elin worked out, Tiger Woods will receive generous visitation rights. He can see the children for up to half of each week, with adjustment made for the times he’s on the road playing golf.
It was never Elin’s intention to keep Tiger Woods away from his children. Even now, Tiger still sees the children on a regular basis, despite the fact that he and Elin currently live in separate houses about a mile apart.
No Female Companions around the Kids

Tiger will not be allowed to bring any mistresses, girlfriends, or other female companions around the children, “unless he is married to said person.”
Under the terms of their custody agreement, the only women allowed in the children’s presence are female members of Tiger’s staff, personally known to Elin, and married women, not romantically linked to Tiger Woods.
The Lifetime Confidentiality Clause
Though the lifetime confidentiality clause was of prime concern to Tiger Woods, it was of little consequence to Elin, a very private person, who has maintained her silence throughout this whole ordeal.
Though there have been “leaks” from Elin’s camp, Elin Nordegren, herself has never once spoken out publicly about Tiger, his multiple mistresses, or his serial affairs.

Apparently, having obtained the two things that were of utmost importance to her, (see above) Elin finally relented and signed Tiger’s lifetime confidentiality clause.
Under the terms of the confidentiality agreement, Elin will be prohibited from ever giving interviews, writing books, or speaking publicly about her marriage, divorce, or any aspect of her life with Tiger Woods.
Judging from Elin’s behavior thus far, she probably had no intention of doing these things, anyway. But Tiger Woods was evidently unwilling to take that chance and was willing to pay handsomely for Elin’s continued silence.
The lifetime confidentiality clause will remain in effect, even if Tiger should die first.
Should Elin violate the terms of the contract in any way, she will be required to forfeit everything she has gained.
Elin Drove a Hard Bargain and Got a Good Deal

Though she didn’t get the $80 million Jupiter Island ocean front estate she helped Tiger design, Elin’s divorce settlement will include several other properties, as indicated below:
• the family mansion in Windmere, Florida
• another $2.4 million home located nearby
• an apartment in Stockholm, Sweden
• a $2.2 million secluded island estate in Sweden
Considering what Elin Nordegren ended up with in her final divorce settlement, I’d say she indeed proved to be a formidable foe.
