Originally from California, this Austin based musician’s vocals and melodies can be compared to Canadian crooner Rufus Wainright. His music is a rock sound heavily influenced by David Bazan’s powerful lyrical style and the music of The Strokes and St Vincent.
He started working on his solo project when he was on leave from the band and his debut solo album Upon Waking was released late last year. It is produced by his father and ex-Black Crowe’s guitarist Marc Ford who takes his turn at the guitar on such tracks as ‘Surprise, Surprise,’ and ‘Realistic.’ When not on the road with Ryan Bingham, he continues to work on his music and writing.http://elijahford.bandcamp.com
