This summer the Lancaster Museum and Art Gallery is hosting an exhibit entitled Elements of Nature. The exhibit features selections from the Frederick R. Weisman Art Foundation. Featured are international contemporary artists Joe Goode, Edward Ruscha, Peter Alexander, Charles Arnoldi, Lesley Dill, and Lita Albuquerque. The exhibit will be available starting June 5th through August 29th for guests to view. The participating artists are well known for their collections in many different galleries including the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, The Museum of Modern Art New York, and the Art Institute of Chicago.
The exhibit will be dear to local visitors as it carries a theme that revolved around the nature of California. Many of the artist's works were inspired by the California sky and landscape. Many of the selections highlight topographical patterns of California, and symbolize the mythical nature of California in the eyes of America.
For those visitors that would prefer a guided tour of the exhibit a special walk through is planned for Saturday June 19th at 11 am. This tour will be guided by the Lancaster Museum and Art Gallery curator Nicholas West and will include insights into each magnificent art work.
