“Corpse de Ballet” is tonight’s episode of “Elementary.” If you have yet to see tonight’s episode, beware of spoilers! To review the last case file, click here. Be sure to check out the slideshow for more quotes from tonight’s episode. “Elementary” airs Thursday nights at 9 on CBS (KHOU).

This week’s case takes us to the ballet. Strangely enough, there is not a ton of time spent on interviewing various ballerinas or getting into the darker side of ballet. Sherlock comes at it from a different angle, as he always does. A huge moment of this case is that Bell is back! Okay, so it is only a huge moment for those who love Bell (aka me), but it is still great to see him off desk duty. Unfortunately, the writers don’t really show Bell out in the field much. It would have been great to see Sherlock and Bell interviewing a suspect together or something. Did you enjoy the case?

Watson takes on her own case during the episode. Don’t get me wrong, it is great to see Watson off doing her own thing. However, it would be nice to see her take the lead on a case, and making Sherlock tag along. She can be useful on the cases that Sherlock takes on. The writers seem to want to show that Watson can do things on her own, and so to do that, they give her a separate storyline. There’s no reason why she can’t showcase this through the case she is working with Sherlock. Do you agree or do you enjoy seeing Watson doing her own thing?

This case that Watson takes on ends up revealing a bit of Watson’s past. Her birth father, whom her mother left shortly after Watson was born, is a schizophrenic and has been living on the streets for the past fifteen years. This is a significant background information moment, and it does help viewers to understand Watson a bit better. Hopefully the writers will continue to share more about Watson’s family life, and it would be great to get to see Watson’s biological dad. Perhaps Sherlock finds him for her or something. Did you love the backstory moment?
