Sherlock: “Oh my God."
Mycroft: “Mycroft. It hasn’t been that long has it?"

London, baby! Yes, that was supposed to be read in Joey Tribbiani’s voice. There are so many great things about doing an episode in London, but the main one is getting to meet all the “Elementary” versions of classic Sherlock Holmes characters. Mycroft and Sherlock’s relationship is well defined. The writers manage to convey the nature of Sherlock and Mycroft’s relationship immediately, and not only that, but there is some development by the end of the episode. The same can be said with Lestrade, although he and Sherlock don’t really get to a better place relationship wise by the end of the episode. Did you love this version of Mycroft aka Fatty and Lestrade?
Watson has come a long way since the pilot. The writers do a good job of showing her progress in this one episode. Sherlock decided last season that Watson needed to improve her self-defense, and in this episode she beats down a guy. Great progress, if you ask me. The writers have proven that they are great at character development. It would have been great to see more of Sherlock working on step nine, but that’s just a personal wish. It isn’t something that harmed the episode overall. Are you impressed with Joan’s progress?
Let’s chat case for a moment. It’s hard to follow the case. Part of this is because like DI Hopkins says, Sherlock is there to find Lestrade, not to solve the case. In that respect, it makes sense that the viewers aren’t given a brief of the case. That being said, it would have been better to have a little bit more information just so it is easy to follow along. All that is easily figured out is that Lestrade thinks the husband killed his wife. Did you enjoy the case?
