The modern day Sherlock Holmes crime/drama “Elementary” (CBS) can be seen on each Thursday evening at 10/9 p.m. Last night's episode on Oct. 17, 2013 was called, “Poison Pen.” It grabbed 8.41 million TV viewers & reached 1.6 million TV viewers in the all important 18 to 49 age demographic. It was beaten by “Scandal” (ABC) with 9.48 & 3.3 adult TV viewers. “Parenthood” (NBC) came in last place with 3.95 & 1.3 TV viewers.
“Poison Pen” opened with a financial consultant named Titus Delancey who was found dead in his apartment. A beautiful prostitute who performs as a dominatrix had discovered him. Sherlock concludes that Titus was deliberately poisoned to death.
Titus Delancey's wife claims her husband was never into aggressive sex. The Delancey family has a beautiful nanny named Anne Barker who is noticed by Sherlock. He reveals that she was formerly known as Abigail Spencer who back in 1991 was accused of killing her father with poison. She was acquitted of the crime. Titus Delancey was murdered by the same kind of Nitroglycerin as her father.
Abigail was crucified in the press after the death of her father. The local community turned against her & she disappeared. She tells Captain Tobias that she had plastic surgery so that she could have a new life. Sherlock recognized her by the sound of her voice. Joan Watson figures out that Sherlock knew Abigail before. He reveals that Abigail was his only friend at age 15. His name was Sherman back then.
Sherlock believes Abigail might have been framed for the murder of Titus because of the same kind of Nitroglycerin poison.
Abigail was being followed by a private investigator who was hired by Peri Delancey the wife of Titus. She thought that her husband was having an affair. If so, Peri might have leverage on a huge divorce settlement. She claims to have wanted to kill her husband, but never went through with it. Titus also had two sons named Graham & Zack who would also gain a substantial inheritance.
Is Abigail innocent of her father's death? Is she innocent in the death of Titus Delancey? Did one of the boys have anything to do with their father's death?
