Electronic recycling event set for this Saturday

The Big Fresno Fair, in collaboration with Electronic Recyclers, will be continuing to provide a location to recycle broken or unbroken electronic waste, with the first electronic recycling event of the year set for this Saturday, Jan. 12, from 8 a.m. - 2 p.m.

There is no limit on how many items you can bring to recycle, and the event is free of charge. Electronics including cell phones and electronic plug-ins are accepted; electronics containing Freon, washers/dryers, batteries and light bulbs are not accepted.

After Saturday, there are three scheduled Electronic Recycling dates this year:
March 16, Sept. 7 and Nov. 9.

Just bring your electronic waste to the Fresno Fairgrounds at 1121 S. Chance Avenue. Enter the parking lot off of Kings Canyon Boulevard, just east of Chance Avenue (Gate 6) and staff will be there to unload your items.

As a reminder, electronic waste is not accepted at the landfill and is often expensive to recycle. For more information on how to recycle electronics at the Fresno Fairgrounds, visit www.FresnoFair.com or call 650-FAIR.
