Boston Firefighters responded to the VA hospital at 1400 VFW Parkway just before 12:30 p.m. today for a report of a car that crashed into a wall.

Original reports stated the Lexus sedan, operated by an elderly driver, had crashed in to the Emergency Room but, in fact, had hit a wall at a mechanical room.

Boston Fire officials stated that is appeared there was no structural damage to the building but had requested City of Boston Inspectional Services to respond and confirm.

The elderly driver was removed from the vehicle with minor injuries and brought to the Emergency Room for evaluation.

The situation was declared under control by 1 p.m. but the section where the accident occurred remained blocked off by VA Hospital police.
