Elderly dog on death row when family decided they no longer had time for him

Saving Carson Shelter Dogs

Update 7/3/14: Rescue pending!

Five years ago, Fred was welcomed to his family...on June 26, his family decided that their 13-year-old dog now required too much time and he was surrendered to the Los Angeles County Animal Care and Control facility in Gardena, Calif.

Unfortunately, the senior Shih Tzu is now one of the many homeless dogs at the animal control facility who is in danger...a source at the facility has indicated that all animals who are past their due date will be put down because of the upcoming 4th of July holiday

On Thursday morning, the Facebook page, Saving Carson Shelter Dogs, posted the following information about Fred:

FRED was dropped at the shelter because after 13yrs his family didn't have enough time for him. He is a love and looks amazing after his haircut and bath. The shelter is full and with the holiday, all dogs are urgent. Fred needs help now. Please SHARE this adorable guy.

In addition to:

My former family who owned me for more than 5 years had to give me up because they did not have enough time to spend with me. But they said that I spend most of my time indoors. I do not show interest in small children. I am housetrained. I am good on a leash. I may need obedience class. I'm not sure how I feel about other pets.

Please help this sweet senior beat the odds by sharing his information and increasing his visibility.
