On October 2, an elderly Labrador retriever mix was left at the Los Angeles County Animal Control facility in Baldwin Park, Calif.
Today, strangers are hoping that someone will think that this 13-year-old dog's life is worth saving.
The dog, named "Maya," is wearing a cone because she has an open wound on her rear leg. Sadly, everything seems to be stacked against this elderly dog...
Maya is a senior, she has a medical issue and she is a dreaded "black dog."
Unfortunately, most of the people who walk through the rows of needy dogs at this facility, are not searching for an elderly dog to take home. Though seniors tug at the heartstrings of some people, there are others who will peer upon her aged-eyes and graying muzzle and think "her best years are over."
The hope is that there is one person who will see a deserving senior who should be enjoying the company of a loving guardian who wants nothing more than to see her stretched out on a soft bed, relaxing in a safe home.
Please take a moment to share Maya's information:
