Top news coming in today to a cooling San Francisco, right after the news about the pharmacy in the meningitis outbreak having been in trouble before (See that article here: Pharmacy in meningitis outbreak accused in '04 (Video) ) is about an elderly couple in the UK who accidentally bought a plant, not knowing what the plant was.
The plant turned out to be a cannabis plant.
The couple live in Bedfordshire in England. They had bought the plant at market and looked after it carefully as it became a full-grown plant. A similar thing happened to a farmer in Germany, says Newser.com.
Police spotted the plant and, after taking a photo of is, tweeted the message: "Elderly couple bought shrub at car boot sale ... biggest cannabis plant we had seen!!"
The offending plant has now been taken into custody and police officers have said they will not press charges against the elderly couple.
San Francisco resident, Alice Marshall says: "This is a funny story. I can believe that the couple really had no idea what they were buying! I am glad that there will be no charges pressed against them. I think older people have no idea about such things. Drugs were not as common when they were growing up as they are today. Great story though, I love it!"
