In what appears to be another misstep for Bethesda, ESO-Hub is reporting that Elder Scrolls Online will feature a real money item store. In notes from an interview posted today, the website disclosed that Matt Firor, General Manager at ZeniMax Online Studios roughly said that "there will be an Itemshop where you can buyTrinkets (Fun-Items) and Character Services, such as name changes."
The translation comes to us by way of NeoGAF where already the disappointment is mounting. There was somewhat of a backlash earlier this week when the studio announced that the game would carry a monthly subscription fee of $14.99 after the first free thirty days.
Doing the math, that puts a year long subscription (before any discounts) at $290 including PlayStation Plus or Xbox Live Gold. A very hefty price largely in part to the fact that you need to pay for the console manufactures and buy the game at $60.
Has your opinion of the game changed over the last week? Will you still pick it up? Let us know in the comments below.
