Elbert County Tea Party-9/12 brews Town Hall meeting, Saturday, October 9, 2010

The Elbert County Tea Party-9/12 will host a Community and Town Hall meeting on important issues on Saturday, October 9, 2010 from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon at Frontier School, 598 Banner Street, Elizabeth, Colorado.

Pros and cons of Ballot Initiatives 60, 61 and 101 will be up for discussion. Cindy Acree, House of Representatives District 40, will present claims against these initiatives. A 2010 voter information booklet can be viewed here.

Next, dialogue will take place on Elbert County Ballot Initiative 1A, which asks for approval to bond (borrow) up to 20 million dollars for road and bridge projects. Steve Valdez will expound on the pros and John Dunn, former County Commissioner, will present the opposing argument.

In addition, John Shipper will participate in a question/answer discussion with Robert Rowland, Elbert County Tea Party-9/12 Chairman, on current issues and concerns of citizens about the financial status of Elbert County, as well as debt obligations and other relevant and immediate issues.

Deliberation on other State and local issues, including Initiative 63 to repeal national Healthcare in Colorado, will also take place.
