Celebrate the El Paso & Southwestern Railroad centennial on Saturday, November 18, 2012 from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. This event is sponsored by the Southern Arizona Transportation Museum, but the event will be at the El Paso & Southwestern Railroad Depot at 407 W. Congress and not the museum's train depot like most of their events. The owner of the depot (Allan Norville) is another sponsor of the event.
The El Paso & Southwestern Railroad centennial event will feature the 4th Calvary Band, artifacts from the El Paso & Southwestern (EP & SW) Railroad, history of the EP & SW railroad presented by Richard Dick, and antique autos. The event honors the 100th anniversary of the first EP & SW train arriving in Tucson on November 20, 1912.
