I remember him best from the video single of “Who is Johnny?”. I don’t know if you remember or not but back in the 80’s El DeBarge (born as Eldra Patrick) was writing all the songs that are still being sampled today. Do you recognize any of these artists (this is just a small list)?

  • B.B. Jay
  • The Notorious B.I.G.
  • Warren G.
  • Harlem World
  • Ashanti
  • Chante Moore
  • Kurupt
  • AZ
  • Wu-Tang Clan
  • Da Brat

Well on Monday night, the three-time Grammy nominee El DeBarge made an appearance on The Arsenio Hall Show. You maybe surprised to know that El DeBarge made no bones about his love for God. You’ll want to watch the video; he mentioned Him a few times as he is on the good fight against his struggles. Keep him in your prayers.

El DeBarge’s discography is as follows with the labels they were released on:

  • El DeBarge | release 1986 - Gordy Records
  • Gemini | release 1989 - Motown Records
  • In the Storm | release 1992 - Warner Bros. Records
  • Heart, Mind and Soul | 1994 - Warner Bros. Records
  • Second Chance | 2010 - Interscope
