El Camino

El Camino, located at 3268 W 32nd Avenue in the heart of the Highland Square, is going on its second anniversary this Thanksgiving. In those two years the bar has managed to make an impact on the community and the patrons making it one of the best bars in not only the Highlands area but in all of Denver as well.

Their goal each and every day is to serve the community with pride. Walking into the place the employees look genuinely happy and that makes a world of difference. They show pride in their fresh daily tamales, salsa, guacamole; many of the ingredients grown on the rooftop garden. El Camino believes in giving back to the community. Every Monday they donate 15% of gross sales to local elementary schools Brown and Edison. The employees of El Camino understand that customers value a dollar nowadays and that if you are spending yours there, they want it to be the best experience possible.

The atmosphere of the bar is great. Best described as funky and eclectic, El Camino serves as a makeshift art gallery. They support local artists and sell the artwork featured on the walls. They have chandeliers made of beer cans as well as a bar made out of rocks and wire. One of the tables is made out of a long board. The music is always jamming and the crowd always looks like they are having a great time. The crowd represents the best walks of the life. Not your standard Highlands bar, El Camino has managed to find its way into the hearts of all groups of Denverites.

When you check out El Camino make sure to note their extensive tequila list. They offer tequila flights ranging from $12-$52. Besides the tequila, the staff has their own favorites offered up on the drink menu. You can order up Crystal’s Highlander Press, Sharon’s (very strong) Victory Lap, Nate’s White Trash Martini, and Blake’s Avocado Margarita. The mojitos are also delicious. I recommend the Coconut Strawberry Mojito.

Happy Hour at El Camino is 3PM-6:30PM daily. During Happy Hour you can get $3 El Camino Lager, $2.50 Coors Light and Tecate, $1.50 Highlife, $3.50 Wells, $4.50 House Margaritas as well as discounts on a few of their appetizer items. They also feature late happy hour from 10-close daily. The hours of operation are Monday-Thursday 11AM-Midnight, Friday 11AM-1AM, Saturday 10AM-1AM, Sunday 10AM-Midnight.
