This company is now a franchise operation growing like a weed. Beginning in 1986 and expanding right away to five stores in the Washington D.C. area they perfected the products to just where they liked them.

Starting in 2003 they began franchising and at this time they are growing at about 33% per year which tells me America likes a good burger with all the trimmings regardless of any negative consequences to the circulatory system. Sometimes you’ve just got to grab a little gusto.

This outfit offers no shame in self promotions, they’ve got their accolades offered in many places, including on their take out menus which shares the facts of such honors as Best French Fries, Best $5.00 Burger a Man Can Eat, and don’t forget “Fine dining of hamburgers.”

Nancy and I went in just last week and I ordered and ate the cheese burger which is two ¼ patties with a slice of American cheese and mine was topped with lettuce, pickles, tomatoes, grilled onions, grilled mushrooms, ketchup and mustard. They offered me more toppings but I accepted just those listed above and I enjoyed each and every one of them for just about 1000 calories I’m sure. Top that with the fries and I guarantee I hit a daily intake of calories.

Nancy was more conservative with a Little Hamburger which is the same as above less one of the patties so she came in at 500 calories showing you how much fat the meat contains and don’t forget my cheese.

The guys who were cooking and taking the orders were all very nice, fun loving guys and we ate pretty quickly even though it was made after we ordered. We had medium fries, which we split one of and medium cokes all for about $20.00 so it’s a bit pricey for burgers and fries but we could have both done the Little Burger and the small cokes for only about $16.00.

This place was good to eat and I’ll look for another trip when my cholesterol settles back below the Fatty Arbuckle line.
