Today, we hear from Grant, in Lexington, KY. He writes:
“I was working out the other day and noticed some semen in my underwear after; is there something wrong with me?”
Well, It can come as quite the surprise when a man feels a sudden surge down there during a workout, but let me put everyone at ease by saying that this is actually completely normal. When you’re working out, particularly if you’re lifting weights, all the muscles through your core, torso, and pelvic region are contracting. This extra pressure can actually squeeze the prostate and seminal vesicles, causing that release of semen that Grant experienced.
For the record, all this straining can actually cause other releases that we don’t want, as well, including urine, feces, and gas. It’s my personal theory, that that’s why men are always grunting when they are lifting weights, they’re just trying to cover up what’s coming out the other end – well, maybe not. But if exercise ejaculation makes you uncomfortable and you want it to stop, there’s really only one thing you can do about it: you can engage in a different kind of workout before hitting the gym. If you masturbate, you will essentially void your body of all that excess semen, so you won’t have to worry about it coming out against your will.
I hope that answers Grant's question - good luck!
