Eileen Davidson will be rejoining her former cast mates at "The Young and the Restless" according to TV Guide Feb. 20. Davidson has portrayed Ashley Abbott off and on since 1982.
Soap stars find themselves written out of their shows alarmingly often, and frequently without notice. Davidson herself has had this issue throughout her portrayal of Ashley Abbott, which has led to some interesting cross show storylines. In 2007 Davidson joined the cast of "The Bold and the Beautiful" when a run at "Y&R" came to an abrupt end.
Eileen has been working most recently on "Days of Our Lives" reprising her role as Kristen DiMera.
Ashley's return to Genoa City is a short trip that coincides with Victor and Nikki remarrying. Davidson tells TV Guide that her character is able to touch base with all of the various Abbott family members to catch up.
The episodes featuring Eileen Davidson are set to begin airing March 18 and will last for two to three episodes.
