Eileen Davidson was spotted on the set of the CBS soap opera “The Young and the Restless,” Soap Opera Digest reported on Feb. 19. Ashley Abbott, played by Davidson, is back for a visit with brother Jack Abbott, played by Peter Bergman. Allegedly “Days of our Lives” loaned Davidson back to “Y&R” for a few very special episodes, according to a report from Daytime Confidential on Feb 19.
On Feb. 19, CBS Daytime chief Angelica McDaniel tweeted:
“BIG Welcome Back to @eileen_davidson! #YR40 @YR_CBS @CBSDaytime”
Since Eileen Davidson has been a large part of the new popularity of “Days of Our Lives” as Kristen DiMera, no one is certain if the powers that be at “The Young and the Restless” have lured Davidson back after letting her go in June 2012, or if Davidson will appear in a few episodes and return to “Days of Our Lives.” Speculation is that Eileen Davidson will go back and forth between “The Young and the Restless” as Ashley Abbott and “Days of our Lives” as Kristen DiMera.
Marcy Rylan, who plays Ashley Abbott’s daughter Abby Newman, recently returned to “Y&R” after being fired. Perhaps Abby can persuade Ashley to remain in Genoa City permanently.
Ashley’s ex-husband, Tucker McCall, played by Stephen Nichols, was recently let go from “The Young and the Restless,” and fans wonder, if Eileen Davidson returns to town as Ashley Abbott, who would be her love interest? Could Ashley come between Victor and Nikki again, as Nikki keeps delaying her remarriage to Victor? Victor Newman has not been known for his patience with women, moving on to the next when one falls out of favor.
