The one thing people say they miss the most on the Paleo diet is bread. Most Paleo or gluten free recipes for bread have several ingridents and take hours and hours to make. This recipe for paleo garlic bread has only eight ingredients and takes less than one hour to make. This bread although simple to prepare is bursting with Italian flavor and has the wonderful crunch and texture of a good french style bread.
Recipe for Paleo garlic bread:
Prep time 20 mins
Cook time 40 mins
Total time 1 hour
½ cup of olive oil
½ cup of water
1 tsp sea salt
¾ cup of tapioca flour
¼ cup of coconut flour
1 egg or unsweetened applesauce
½ tsp of Italian seasoning like Oregno and Thyme
½ tsp of chopped garlic
1.In a small pan combine the olive oil, water and sea salt and bring to a boil.
2.remove from heat and add in the garlic and then the tapioca flour.
3.Mix thoroughly and let rest for 5 minutes.
4.Add in the in Italian seasoning and egg.
5.Mix in the coconut flour and then knead the dough for 1 minute.
6.Pinch a 1″ piece of dough and cut into a slice.
7.Place the roll on a greased baking sheet. Repeat.
8.Bake at 350 for 35 – 40 minutes
