Eerie pyramids in NYC captured by a savvy photographer

Photographer Stephane Missier, aka Charles le Brigand, captured some pretty amazing images recently while he was in NYC. Missier makes sure his camera is always nearby, because of this he was able to capture pictures of some eerie pyramids while biking on Dec. 30, says a Jan. 2 Yahoo! report.

The unbelievable pictures were taken while he was crossing a bridge. Missier had been previously documenting the area, which was destroyed by Hurricane Sandy. He noticed the eerie pyramids in a parking lot in Queens. He emailed Yahoo! news saying,

"I knew the city was using the parking lot as a debris transfer site, but I wasn't expecting such an eerie landscape.

There were 18 dunes total, which stood approximately 30 feet tall and were made entirely from sand in the hurricane-devastated streets. After snapping off a few shots of the pyramids, a sanitation officer saw him and then Missier says the officer "asked me politely to leave."

Missier had this to say about his interesting event:

"There were all kinds of construction and hauling trucks on the site as well as generators, watch towers, and pole lights, so I really had the impression of being on another planet."
