Following the largely successful movie Walking With Dinosaurs and back by popular demand, the Ward Melville Heritage Organization (WMHO) is offering three fun-filled days of events for kids age 3 through 9. The event will take place February 18, 19 and 20 at WMHO’s Educational and Cultural Center in the Stony Brook Village Center. Children will be able to sing, play games, hear stories, be crafty and learn at the same time.
Dinosaur Daze for Ages 3-5 takes place from 10 am to 11:30 am and Dinosaur Detectives for 6 to 9 year olds will be held from 1 pm to 3 pm on each of those days. A knowledgeable instructor will offer age appropriate activities each day. Topics will include prehistoric animals that appear on PBS’s Dinosaur Train, how to become a “Junior Paleontologist”, and the different forms of life on the island of Madagascar. Kids will even get to create and take home a “fossil.” Parents are encouraged to stay and participate. Cost for Dinosaur Daze is $50 per child for all three days. Cost for Dinosaur Detectives is $65 per child for all three days. There is a 12 person minimum and 15 person maximum in order for classes to be held.
