Ever been in a middle of a conversation to have someone interrupt with ridiculous observations? You are engaged with quality insightful conversation about the nutritional value of apples and the obtruder interjects with comments about how harmful apples can be when taken intravenously. At the departure of the interloper someone comments, “He should check his reality”.
Stop the silly talks
After the “not guilty” verdict of George Zimmerman, everyone is eager to have a conversation on being black in America. But to those interlopers, the phrase “check your reality” should be interpose to eliminate their ridiculous dialogs.
A true education
Engage a conversation with the youth of the African-American community and you will be educated on the profiling they received because they are driving a particular vehicle. They will school you on the “bogus” tickets they receive on their way to work, to church or home. They will enlighten you on the disparity they receive in the legal system. They will instruct you on the treatment they receive when they walk into a bank. They will educate you on how they feel when they go into a department start and is followed throughout the store. They will inform you on why a black man spends two years in prison for animal cruelty and George Zimmerman serve no prison time for killing an unharmed teen.
To die in a single parent home
Someone should tell these main stream media personalities to check their reality when they make ridiculous broad sweeping comments on how to be black in America. On Fox cable station, one interloper declared the single parent household is what is wrong in black American. If you are a teenager and live in a single parent home it is permissible then for any person to work up to you and shot you. If that’s the case then 63% of American household, which includes whites, will be mourning the death of their teenager. That critic should “check his reality”.
The suggested conformity
A CNN pundit one weekend had the audacity to list five recommendations for the black community. Assuming the list of five were implemented does that fix the disparity that blacks experience in America? Ask President Obama. He is highly educated, well dressed, and well-spoken but, he endures more opposition in the Presidential Office than any president past or present. In response to the list of adjuncts the retort is Mr. Interloper “check your reality”.
Should there be a legitimate conversation with the black community others will quickly recognize that individuals within the community has no interest in garnering a Stedford deposition within a society that continues to abuse their inalienable rights.
