Bullying, cyberbullying, digital abuse and all forms of child abuse.

Our children today face issues that generations prior never had to deal with, in addition to the traditional peer pressure that comes with being a kid -- especially a tween or teenager it is extremely challenging.

Students today need to be educated and empowered from not only their parents, but from schools too. We, as a community need to be accountability to keep our children safe by implementing tools they can use to help prevent them from potential harm - both online and off.

Education is the key to prevention. It is a fact, bad things can happen to good people and no one is immune to horrific tragedies. We, as adults, have a responsibility have to give our children the knowledge to be equipped to handle situations they face when we are not there to protect them.

Monique Burr Foundation for Children Inc (MBF) is dedicated to providing MBF Child Safety Matters™, is a research–based, primary prevention education program provided at no cost to all public Florida elementary schools, to educate and empower elementary students, school personnel and adults with information and strategies to prevent bullying, cyberbullying, digital abuse, and all forms of child abuse.

They have fundraisers through the year to continually help fund their programs.

Monique Burr Foundation's 11th annual A Night at Roy's Restaurant will be held on Thursday, May 1, 2014 at Roy's Restaurant in Jacksonville Beach. Guests enjoy contemporary, Hawaiian-influenced gourmet cuisine, fabulous fine wines sponsored by Southern Wine & Spirits and tropical beverages while listening to the band. There will also be a silent auction with fantastic items by generous sponsors.

Tickets are $100.00. For every ticket sold, 50 elementary students will receive MBF Child Safety Matters™ program.

Erin's Law is crossing our country. Like the Monique Burr Foundation, it is about implementing education in our schools about teaching our children about sexual abuse. Watch Erin's video and understand how important empowering our children are in today's society of hi-tech combined with peer influence.

Consider making a difference in a child's life. Enjoy an evening at Roy's Restaurant and know your donation will be educating students. If you can't make it, please consider other opportunities. Visit the MBF website to get involved.
