Peter Pan will be presented this weekend by The Performing Arts Department at Edsel Ford High School, 20601 Rotunda Drive in Dearborn.

The curtain will rise at 7 p.m. on each of the April 3-5 play dates except for Saturday matinee performance, which will take place at 2 p.m. Mary Timpf, president of Edsel Ford's adult performing arts booster organization, the Crescendo Club, said this Peter Pan production will be based on the original Mary Martin musical which debuted in 1954 (obtained from the Samuel French catalog).

The cast of Peter Pan will feature about 85-90 players, 20 musicians in the orchestra pit, and 15 crew; she said. While Edsel Ford students will be handling major roles (such as Peter, Wendy, Captain Hook/Mr. Darling, Tiger Lily, Smee and Liza), Timpf noted that the youngest Darling child Michael will be an elementary school student, and all the Indians and animals in Never Never Land will be played by elementary and middle school students as well. Probably 40 more will be playing pirates or the Lost Boys.

The box office will be open 45 minutes prior to each performance of Peter Pan. The tickets are priced $12 for general admission ($10 for all children or students from college age on down, and senior citizens age 55 and over). Timpf added that all presale tickets (purchased for Friday or Saturday at least one day in advance) will have $2 deducted from the prices.
