For the first time, Eddyline Brewery and Taproom participated as one of the numerous breweries at 2013 Winter Brew Fest several weeks ago.
The brewery, located in Buena Vista, opened a production site just a few months ago. Its production site is situated several blocks away from its restaurant and original site.
It was an "excellent marketing opportunity for a small mountain brewery that has launched into the front range markets," said owner Mic Heynekamp of Eddyline Brewery and Taproom.
The Winter Brew Fest sold out two weeks before the event, packing participants and beer lovers into the small venue of Mile High Station. That's what the local breweries are banking on - the large number of attendees. "We believe that we met many great fans and made even many more; we hope this translates into more sales," Heynekamp said.
Centennial resident Mary Jo McCandless enjoyed the various brews available while brewers were estactic at the huge numbers of beer lovers. "We were blown away by the overwhelmingly positive response," Heynekamp said.
The Buena Vista brewery was awarded the gold medal for its pale ale brews at the Great American Beer Festival in 2012. It also received a bronze in the category of Fruit, Spice, Herb, Vegetable Character Beers for its pumpkin patch beer at 2012 All Colorado Beer Festival Medal Winners in Colorado Springs.
"We live and brew in Buena Vista because the water and lifestyle is so incredible yet the main market for our beers is the front range," Heynekamp said. "Our beers are brewed for maximum enjoyment. They might not be the heaviest, darkest, hoppiest, exotic, but we strive to make them the most enjoyable, balanced, tastiest beers."
Tip 1: Anyone who loves beers, should try to attend the Summer brew fest and to try all the great beers from all the great Colorado breweries including those from Eddyline Brewing.
Tip 2: Take a short two-hour drive to Buena Vista and visit the brewery. Only seven beers were showcased at the Winter Beer Fest.
