Eddie Vedder to write song for new Christian Bale movie thriller

Pearl Jam's Eddie Vedder met with the Director, Cameron Crowe, "We bought a Zoo," "Jerry McGuire," on Jan. 31, to discuss the details of Vedder writing a song, for a movie soundtrack. Crowe is developing a movie project with Actor, Christian Bale.

“Out of the Furnace,” is a dark thriller starring Christian Bale and Woody Harrelson, that will be released this year.

Vedder wrote, and performed several songs for various movies. Some of the movies featuring Vedder's music include, “Dead Man Walking,” “Eat Pray Love” and most of the “Into The Wild” soundtrack, among others. Crowe directed the Pearl Jam documentary, "Pearl Jam 20" released in 2011.

Jan. 31, Los Angeles Times reports, "Vedder and his band have been mixing it up with moviedom lately. The band was the subject of the 2011 documentary, “Pearl Jam: Twenty,” in which the normally press ambivalent group allowed early enthusiast Cameron Crowe to interview and shoot them behind the scenes. The result was an in-depth look at a group that has managed to move past its reluctant voice of a generation, beginnings and endure for more than two decades. "
