Eddie Long delays divorce, adds new lawyer, preaches again (VIDEO)

We have movement in the Bishop Eddie Long divorce case. But before we get into that, let's talk about Long's return to the pulpit in this video, where he declares, "2012 is here!"

Previously, I wrote about uncovering certain divorce details online about Vanessa Long's pending divorce from her husband of many years.

Within recent days, there have been additional updates.

On January 11, 2012, there was a notice of appearance by William G. Cromwell -- an attorney who is now listed on the online judicial system of DeKalb County, Georgia, beneath Bishop Eddie Long's name -- right below his previously noted attorney, William Bradley Hill, Jr. of Ashe, Rafuse & Hill LLP.

William G. "Bill" Cromwell apparently joined "attorneys Jimmy Hurt, Irwin Stolz...and Jim Carter, each with successful practices of their own...to form Hurt, Stolz and Cromwell, LLC in January, 2011," according to their website.

Cromwell filed a certificate of service and a stipulation on January 11th that is described as follows on the judicial system of DeKalb County's website:

JOINT STIPULATION OF EXTENSION OF TIME WITHIN WHICH TO RESPOND TO PETITIONER'S PETITION FOR DIVORCE AND LIKE PLEADINGS (NW)

Ad hoc Google research and a little common sense has told this Business Admin major that filings for extension of time like this by Bishop Eddie Long's lawyer is a legal eagle maneuver that allows the party time to gather all the documentation and ammunition needed to "fight this thing" (okay, I couldn't help but echo what Bishop Long said he was going to do against his young accusers) -- namely, "this thing" now being his estranged wife's divorce filing.

The divorce saga continues...online for the world to watch.
